ELPA423 Line Powered Amplifier - for Business Sets

The Wilcom ELPA 423 Line Powered Amplifier - Electronic Business Set is an Enhanced Line Powered 2-wire Amplifier designed for non-loaded copper loops terminated in Northern Telecom Electronic Business Sets (EBS), served by the DMS-100TM family of central office switches. The ELPA 423 is an electronic hybrid voice frequency amplifier with automatic gain/equalization and adaptive balance on the cable port. It is intended for use at the customer's premises. It extends the operating range of the EBS (P-Phone or MeridianTM Business Set) to 16-20 kft or more.

The ELPA 423 can be used on shorter loops to improve the overall transmission loss of the EBS circuit, provide balance and equalization, and ensure a 4.0 dB cable insertion loss, even though the 8 kHz loss is within the range to permit adequate supervision. See Data Sheet for more information.

SB21-K2 Line Powered Amplifier - NID/Wall mount

The Model SB21-K2 Line Powered Amplifier - NID/Wall mount is Wilcom's newest member of the TurboAmpTM Family of enhanced line powered amplifiers. This very small repeater, which installs in a network interface device at the customer site, compensates for 2-wire POTS and special service circuits. It is estimated that 500,000 new 2-wire special service lines are installed each year in the U.S. The SB21-K2 lowers the cost of provisioning these circuits and improves their performance. On most loops, the SB21-K2 will also improve modem and fax performance. Additionally, POTS lines will have better voice performance if an SB21-K2 is used.

At its core the SB21-K2 is an electronic hybrid voice frequency repeater. Enhanced features include automatic gain/equalization on both the cable and equipment ports, automatic balance on the cable side, and selectable fixed impedances on the equipment side.
See Data Sheet for more information.

Attenuators & RFI Filters

DJ-15 Adjustable Attenuator

The Wilcom Model DJ-15 Step Attenuator is a 15-step telephone line attenuator that provides level control for two-wire circuits. The DJ-15 provides dc coupled attenuation from 0 to 15 dB. Attenuation adjustment is accomplished through switch selectable settings in 1 dB increments that provide total module insertion loss. External connections are made through two RJ11 jacks.

While the Data Jack is not limited to data applications, it is most often used in conjunction with a modem. The DJ-15 may be required if levels from the Telco facility are too high for effective modem throughput. Also, an impedance mismatch may exist between the modem and the facility. Therefore, the DJ-15 offers a fixed, balanced, 600 ohm impedance toward the unit's LINE side. This provides a good match with the impedance of the data modem or other terminal apparatus that may be encountered.

97AX Modular Voiceband Attenuator

Excessive loop current can cause the following problems:

 Decreased modem performance (slow data rates)
 Modem, fax, telephone disconnects
 Equipment failures
 Random squealing and echoes

The 97A-x reduces excessive loop current to a preferred level, hence stabilizing and improving the voiceband frequency
response of the circuit. The problems described above are eliminated, therefore allowing the equipment to perform at
optimal levels.

The 97A-x patented H-pad design reduces the voiceband frequency response from -1 dB to -8 dB, depending on the
model ordered. Additionally, the different 97A-x products provide a vast range of loop loss from -3 mA up to -14.5 mA.

A-150 Weatherproof RFI Filter

The xA-150 filters are single pair, in-line filters designed to attenuate RFI up to -57 dB on analog lines from 75 kHz to 150 MHz. The filters require no external grounding and are balanced to 600 ohms with an off-hook insertion loss of less than 0.1 dB at 1004 Hz, thus ideal for telephony applications such as with telephones, fax machines and analog PC modems.

The xA-150 features a small, weatherproofed enclosure that is installed on the customer side of the Network Interface Device. Model SA-150 has fork terminals, and model A-150 has unterminated wires for maximum installation flexibility.

In certain situations, the RFI demodulated signal power may be so overbearing that multiple filters would need to be installed in series to eliminate the RFI.

NOTE: The XA-150 filters are not designed as xDSL POTS filters as they will attenuate a portion of the upstream xDSL frequency spectrum; however, certain installation techniques using the XA-150 filters can be used to alleviate RFI in DSL applications.

M-150 Modular RFI Filter

The M-150 filters are single pair, in-line filters designed to attenuate RFI up to -57 dB on analog lines from 75 kHz to 150 MHz. The filters require no external grounding and are balanced to 600 ohms with an off-hook insertion loss of less than 0.1 dB at 1004 Hz, thus ideal for telephony applications such as with telephones, fax machines and analog PC modems.

The M-150 is a modular device which can be placed at the telephone set, or at the modular connecting block, or any other location that will accept a modular RJ-11 connector.

In certain situations, the RFI demodulated signal power may be so overbearing that multiple filters would need to be installed in series to eliminate the RFI.

NOTE: The M-150 filters are not designed as xDSL POTS filters as they will attenuate a portion of the upstream xDSL frequency spectrum; however, certain installation techniques using the M-150 filters can be used to alleviate RFI in DSL applications.

W-150-M Wallplate RFI Filter

The W-150-M filter is single pair, wall plate filter designed to attenuate RFI up to -57 dB on analog lines from 75 kHz to 150 MHz. The filters require no external grounding and are balanced to 600 ohms with an off-hook insertion loss of less than 0.1 dB at 1004 Hz.

The W-150-M features a secondary filtered RJ-11 jack accessible on the side of the unit for a telephone that does not require wall mounting.
